My Updated Everyday Makeup Routine 2020
I almost started this blog post with the dreaded “a lot of you have been asking about my makeup routine” but thankfully I caught myself (yay, self-awareness!) so let me rephrase. Whenever I post a selfie of my makeup on Instagram stories, I often get some lovely reply messages from my community on there about “omg your skin” or “yas girl what are you using on those brows??” So first of all, you guys are the best. And secondly I figured that the easiest way to respond if someone asks me for a product is to make a video showing my everyday makeup routine so that everything is in one place.
Now of course on Jumprope you can shop products straight from the video but if you’re not on the app yet or you didn’t catch my video about this on my Instagram feed, I figured I’d also share it to my blog. As you already know if you follow me, this year my content strategy is all about creating better and that means being smarter about re-purposing content and distributing content on multiple platforms so that people can find it wherever they happen to run into me.
Publishing my first beauty post on my blog made me feel both really nervous and also super excited. This blog was primarily fashion for the first four years of its existence and I was always scared to write about beauty because I felt like I wasn’t an expert. And honestly? I’m still probably not an expert, but because of a lovely thing called the internet I learned that you don’t have to be an expert to be involved in the conversation. So my first-ever beauty post on my blog in 2016 was sharing my own everyday makeup favorites because I knew that even if I couldn’t yet speak intelligently about ingredients used or what products were best for what skin type, I could speak from my own experience and I’ve now been doing that for several years. So in the spirit of coming full-circle, speaking from personal experience, and frankly, my own personal obsession with all things beauty, here is my updated 2020 everyday makeup routine.
