Welcome back to the blog after a bit of a break! I hope you all had a restful holiday. I know I did, catching up with family, eating some yummy food and drinking lots of red wine.

I’m really excited for this new year because tons of exciting changes are on the horizon and I can’t wait to see what 2019 will hold. One of the big changes that I’ll be implementing this year on the blog is that there will now be new posts once a week on Wednesdays. If you’re looking for more content from me, be sure to follow along on Instagram and check out my YouTube channel where I will be uploading two videos a week on Monday and Fridays as discussed in my holiday blog strategy post.

I think that this will increase the quality of blog posts so that I can make sure on Wednesdays I’m delivering you guys great content that you want to be seeing. I’ve also updated my press and portfolio pages if you’d like to check them out!

I had asked a while back on my Instagram stories if you’d be interested in seeing a post about some of my most-worn items from this past year because it’s so frustrating to go shopping and then look at your closet and realize there are so many things that you don’t even end up wearing. By doing this I’m identifying the items that I reached for the most and I can use that to inform what I’ll purchase in this coming year.

There were five items that stood out to me and I think you’ll have seen all of these at least once either on my blog or Instagram account.

  1. Polka dot skirt from ASOS

I was a little nervous about this purchase at first but actually found a variety of ways to style it up! I particularly liked pairing it with sneakers to make it feel a bit cooler.

2. Gingham pants from Zara

Gingham was without a doubt spring’s biggest trend and I slowly but surely hopped on the bandwagon as well. These pants were equal parts comfy and presentable and I had fun changing up my styling of them.

3. Red blazer from Zara

This is one of the bolder pieces in my closet but I loved being able to style it up! My go-to is to pair it with jeans and a slogan t-shirt but I also loved when I paired it with my red DL1961 jeans for a suited effect.

4. Goldie hi-rise jeans from DL1961

There’s nothing quite like a pair of light wash denim to make a girl swoon and this pair from DL was my favorite and definitely most-worn this year!

5. Red mules from ASOS

I really didn’t know if I would love this pair of mules when I first tried them on but slowly they became a go-to style for me and I paired them with prints to unexpected shades like baby blue.
