Spruce Up Your Home Office For Spring With These Walmart Finds
With the start of a new season often comes a desire to refresh all different facets of our lives.
Some people do this through spring cleaning and decluttering and others will unfollow accounts that aren’t serving them on social media.
If you ask me, I personally love to refresh my space and tap into spring home trends.
Spruce Up Your Home Office For Spring With These Walmart Finds
Last spring, I hung some floating shelves above my desk and added little decor details like succulents and decorative vases that made my space feel more homey and I can’t tell you how much it changed my mindset when I sit down to work each morning.
Whether you’re working at home a few days a week or you have a small home office area for a passion project or side hustle, finding the right pieces for you is key to being productive in your environment.
Here are some easy spring office decor ideas from Walmart to help you bring your dream home office space to life.
1. The perfect desk
If you’re looking to set the tone for your home office, you definitely want to spend the most time on what will be the focal point of the room—the desk.
Especially if you’re looking on the hunt for home office ideas for small spaces, you want a desk that will help you maximize the area you have to work with.
I love being able to spread out when I’m working so a long, rectangular desk is a must for me.
Plus, with this desk you get three storage drawers which can help keep your surface area clutter-free by giving you a place to store files, pens and other office supplies.
2. Let there be light
I’m all for mood lighting, but not when I’m working.
Having great lighting (and lots of it!) is very important to me in my home office so I love finding additional light fixtures for my space whenever possible.
I’m not a fan of traditional desk lamps, so adding lighting in other ways is key whether it’s on a side table nearby or with a standing lamp.
I absolutely love the look of this table lamp—its white, bright lampshade ensures that the light is still being distributed and its unique sphere shape makes it a statement piece in your home office.
I think it would look perfect sitting atop a storage cabinet or accent table in a home office space.
3. Comfort is key
As someone who could spend hours in front of her laptop on any given day, being comfortable at my desk is a must.
There are so many chairs that look cute but aren’t comfortable or on the other side of the coin that prioritize comfort and sacrifice aesthetics entirely.
This white desk chair is the perfect balance—it makes the space feel light and bright with a comfy back and armrests and an adjustable seat.
It’s sleek design means you aren’t sacrificing style either and will easily tuck under any desk when you’re done with work at the end of the day.
4. Stay organized
No desk is complete without accessories and one of my favorite things to leave out on my desk that you won’t catch me hiding in a drawer is my weekly planner.
Having a weekly planner on your desk is a visual cue to stay on top of your tasks and when a planner is as cute and colorful as this one you’ll want to show it off.
Pro tip: whenever I sit down to write out my daily tasks, I love to identify my big 3 for the day. The big 3 are the 3 biggest priorities I know I want to accomplish in order to feel like I had a productive work day.
5. The top shelf
When it comes to fun office decor ideas, having a styled bookshelf is always at the top of the list.
I think that playing with proportions is key when styling a shelf like this and in this case, the shelf gives you lots of ideas based on the layout of the shelves.
The lower, narrow shelves are perfect for stacking books, whereas the larger square spaces are great for plants (real or fake—the choice is up to you.)
You can also add in picture frames, small statues or cute opaque boxes if you need additional storage in your home office space. Personalize it to make it feel like yours.
I hope this post has inspired you with some easy spring decorating ideas.
