13 NYC Fashionistas You Should Be Following on Instagram

13 Fashionistas.jpg

One of my favorite things about New York City is all of the amazing outfits I see on a daily basis. The subway and the streets of Soho are my favorite places to scope out amazing looks IRL, but when it comes to my Instagram feed there are just certain people who inspire me endlessly. And lucky for me, these fashionable ladies are my friends! I can’t possibly shout out every single fashionista who inspires me with their sartorial slam-dunks, but I wanted to round up a few of the people whose profiles I tap on when I can’t figure out what to wear. From unofficial influencers, to full-time bloggers, to fashion editors, here are (in no particular order) 13 of my favorite stylish New Yorkers to follow on the ‘gram.

Erika Fox

If you crave city sophistication and investment pieces in your wardrobe definitely check out Erika’s page. This Irish blogger and Upper East Sider is behind the site Retro Flame and in addition to the endless inspo she delivers on her Instagram page, her YouTube channel features styling videos and clothing hauls that will give you tons of new outfit ideas.

Alyssa Lenore

Alyssa, AKA the queen of neutrals, is constantly reminding me that an outfit doesn’t have to be too crazy to look amazing. We got to hang out when I interviewed her for NYLON and I couldn’t get over how down-to-earth and awesome she was. If you’re constantly seeking out black, white, and neutral-colored clothing and want lots of recommendations for cute coffee shops, definitely check her out. Caroline Vazzanna

I once told Caroline that she does Carrie Bradshaw better than Carrie Bradshaw did Carrie Bradshaw...so I think that tells you most everything you need to know about her! If you love maximalist fashion and colorful looks, definitely check out her Insta account and her website Making it in Manhattan.

Indya Brown

I ran into Indya at a press preview last week and instantly found myself making a mental checklist of items I want to wear ASAP from her outfit—red coat and fanny pack among them. She keep street style super real and her outfits always have a little element of surprise to them. Read more of Indya’s work for The Cut.

It's sick how much @hm I own at this point.

Kelsey Stiegman

While I miss using our lunch breaks as Cosmo.com interns to take each other’s outfit photos, I love that I still know what Kelsey wears every single day thanks to her Insta which is #AlwaysLit. I dare you to find me someone who rocks statement accessories and light wash jeans as well as she does. Check out more of Kelsey’s work on Seventeen.com.

Lauren Eggertsen

In addition to the fact that Lauren is one of the sweetest humans on the entire planet, I am also constantly coveting her wardrobe. Follow along on her stories as she hits up press previews checking out the latest trends or enjoy the sartorial findings on her feed and on the account she and her friend Mimi created to honor their favorite brand, The Devils Wear Zara. Ray Lowe

What do you get when you mix Cali girl cool, New York chic, and a little bit of Disney? Ray Lowe, duh! After bonding over a brunch at the Harlem Tavern with this actual ray of sunshine (peep her Insta name) I could not get over how genuinely cool and nice she was. I admire her style, career, and personality, so definitely check her out! Read some of Ray's work on Refinery29

*But how many Mickey ear hats does she own?*

Aisha Hatter

Aisha is one of those people who can make anything look cool, whether she knows it or not. I constantly find myself envying her looks (most recently her velvet green pants from Reformation and every single one of her jackets) and watching her stories to see what beauty products she's using, what her dog is up to, and to participate in Random Question Time.

Sarah Chiwaya

After meeting at fashion week a few seasons back, I've been keeping up with Sarah's blog and Instagram and am constantly finding new outfit inspiration from each. The girl rocks a patterned dress so damn well and she's not afraid of bold color or statement-making outfits. Also I'd like to steal all of her purses. For more of Sarah, check out her blog Curvily

Dylana + Natalie Suarez

I love me a good #SuarezSisters moment! Dylana and Natalie are not only two of the coolest humans ever, but they also have closets that are likely the envy of every girl on Instagram. From long dresses to cool jackets to amazing accessories these girls are always killing the style game. For more on Dylana, check out her website Dylana Suarez and for more on Natalie check out her website Natalie Off Duty.

Sydney Gore

One of the best parts of working with Sydney at NYLON was seeing what she was wearing every day. Whether it's a Juicy zip-up or a denim dress from Madewell, Sydney always looks awesome and the best part of all of her outfits is that they're all as comfortable as they are cute. Elly Ayres

Every time I see Elly post an Instagram I immediately smile, not just because I love her (which I do!) but because she is a pro at mixing fashion and humor. The girl loves her striped T-shirts and denim, but always finds fun ways to mix things up and create a more unexpected look. To read more of Elly's work, check out her stuff on Bustle
