Ultimate NYC Bachelorette Weekend Itinerary 2024

Last weekend was my bachelorette party in NYC and we truly had the best weekend! I’m sharing all of the details of what we did, where we ate, where we stayed and so much more.

Ultimate NYC Bachelorette Weekend Itinerary 2024

Initial bachelorette planning overview

Similarly to my bridal shower, I didn’t want to be surprised with our weekend plans or put the burden of planning on my friends, so I took the lead with most of the planning.

But I did ask my friends who are part of the bridal party to help me with fun details along the way.

For example, Taylor, my maid-of-honor, called the restaurants we wanted to go to to make reservations for our group.

I also put together a PDF guide of the weekend for them with all of the details they’d need to know for the weekend from the name on the hotel reservation to the timing of each day.

I think that putting together something like this is helpful to give people a heads up about what to expect for the weekend so they can look up locations, menus and more.

Choosing NYC as my bachelorette weekend destination

I currently live in Hoboken but before that lived in NYC for 7 years! New York City was also the most central location for most of the bridesmaids and is a major hub with lots of flights for those who had to fly in.

Many of my bridesmaids have either lived in NYC at some point or have visited before so we didn’t need to do any super touristy activities or feel pressure to explore 24/7.

We ended up having surprisingly good weather (warm and pleasant!) in August, but if you’re planning a bachelorette party here over the summer just prepare for things to be hot and be sure to scope out a rain plan for any outdoor activities.

I told everyone I was planning to do NYC in December of last year and sent around a Google form with potential weekends and August 4-6 was the one that worked best for everyone who was able to attend, so I strongly recommend choosing a weekend well in advance.

Bachelorette weekend theme

I guess not choosing a theme has become a running theme for me! I didn’t really choose a theme for my bridal shower other than the colors and I didn’t have a particular theme for my bachelorette either.

We did one night all dressed in a coordinated color scheme where I gave everyone several colors to choose from, but other than that I provided general packing suggestions so people could decide what to wear based on what they already owned based on each activity we were doing.

I had a few friends flying in for the occasion and I really didn’t want to put people in a position where they needed to spend additional money to buy super specific pieces.

Where we stayed

We stayed at Hotel 32 | 32 in midtown. Overall we had a good experience there!

It was a central location, the rooms were clean, the front desk attendants were very nice and responsive and they were able to hold luggage after we checked out so we didn’t have to drag it around the city.

We had two Double Queen Superior rooms which were perfect for our girls' weekend sleepover vibes.

This meant 2 queen beds per room so each room could sleep 4 girls and each room had a table with 2 chairs, 1 lounge chair and a mini kitchen.

The extra sink and mini fridge space in the mini kitchens definitely came in handy.

As with anywhere in midtown, this can mean some noise from the streets in the evenings (we had a funny run in with people coming from the Phish concert at MSG but that’s a long story lol) so just be prepared with eye masks, ear plugs, and a white noise app if needed.

If you have friends who know each other and don’t mind sharing beds for the weekend, this was definitely a more affordable option for a group.

My ideal NYC bach weekend itinerary

Let’s dive into my bachelorette weekend schedule so you can see exactly what we did each day of the weekend.

Thursday

  • 6pm - Optional/Bonus Happy Hour

    • A very chill evening in Hoboken with a toast to start the weekend for anyone who was around on Thursday

Friday

  • 3pm - Hotel Check-In

  • 7:30pm - Dinner at Tacombi on Bleecker Street

    • Mexican night at an NYC locale with spicy margaritas and tons of tacos

  • 10pm - Comedy Cellar (Village Underground location)

    • Laughed the night away at one of NYC's funniest spots, keep in mind they have a 2 item minimum per person but you can get food and water bottles towards this

    • Keep in mind they take your phones so do pictures beforehand if you want any!

Saturday

  • 9am - Wake up and coffee run

    • We took our time getting up on Saturday. Some people went to grab coffee at maman, others slept in, but we were all up and dressed before 11 for the rest of the day.

  • 11am - Central Park Picnic

    • We took the train to 57th street and picked up snacks and drinks at Morton Williams and sandwiches at Sfilatino Italian Gourmet by the south west corner of Central Park.

    • The sandwich shop was also where Andrew and I stopped to pick up sandwiches the day we got engaged so this was a fun callback to that!

  • 5pm - Get ready

    • We came back to the hotel, showered, did our hair and makeup and got ready for the evening

  • 6:45pm - Eataly Rooftop

    • Ate lotsa pasta at the SERRA by Bierra rooftop restaurant at Eataly Flatiron

    • We also took photos in Madison Square Park beforehand, which worked out perfectly so I got an individual photo with each girl and one big group photo all together

  • 9pm - Karaoke in K-Town

    • We capped off the night belting Taylor Swift at Karaoke City, very conveniently located one block from our hotel.

    • Not on the schedule but we got late night pizza afterwards at Adiamo Pizza on W 28th street!

Sunday

  • 9am - Pack up

    • We decided to pack up relatively early so we could check out on time and have all of our belongings with the hotel staff in the lobby

  • 10am - Bagels and coffee

    • We walked over to Bagel Street by our hotel and picked up breakfast sandwiches and coffees and took them over to Madison Square Park

  • 11am - Hotel Check-Out time

    • Time to check out of the hotel! We were packed and fed by this point so we were able to pick up our luggage and call an Uber easily.

Bachelorette game idea

I saw this DIY on Pinterest and thought it would be super fun to DIY a Jeopardy game for the girls to play.

You can do different questions depending on how funny/raunchy you want to get and also based on how well the group knows each other.

I’ve received so many questions about my bridal Jeopardy game that I actually created a whole blog post about it.

I have a whole TikTok if you’d like to watch a video of me creating the game and another one where I shared some sample questions in case you’re thinking of doing something like this as well.

I also shared links to purchase all of the supplies that I used to create this on my LTK.

Bridal party gifts

I put together gift bags for each bridesmaid containing some amazing beauty products, kindly gifted by some of my favorite brands (!!) including:

I also added a handwritten note in each bag on these super cute cards I found on Amazon and a candle.

The candles were super unique and each candle corresponded to the bridesmaid’s birthday from a company called Birthdate

I highly recommend these if you’re looking for bridesmaids gifts—everyone had so much fun reading their candles and the more candles you buy, the bigger group discount you can get too.

Getting around in NYC

Staying in Midtown and planning all of our activities to be pretty central meant that we were able to take public transportation everywhere!

I took Ubers in and out of the city to and from Hoboken because I was always with at least one other person and had all of the games, gift bags, etc. but once we were there within the city we were able to travel by subway or by foot to all of our activities.

This helped us avoid surge pricing and traffic and we were able to easily navigate to all of our activities.

Other tips / planning

Paying for things:

As a group we were able to use an app called Splitwise when it came to paying for things and at the end of the weekend everyone was able to “settle up” with whoever they owed money to.

It seemed to work pretty seamlessly so if you have people volunteering to pay for different things and you want to even it all out at the end of the trip, this seemed like an easy solution.

If you don’t want to do that, designate a math-savvy attendee to keep track of all receipts and share each other’s Venmo/Zelle/PayPal info ahead of time to make requesting money quick and easy.

How long should a bachelorette party be?

I also have to say I thought that the Friday evening to Sunday morning timespan was perfect for our group and what we wanted to do!

You don’t have to plan a long or overly extravagant bachelorette trip to still have tons of fun and spend lots of time together.

Special touches

I also had fun selecting activities and places that had special meaning for Andrew and I.

For example, Andrew took me to my first show at the Comedy Cellar so it was fun to bring my friends there too.

We also got sandwiches from the shop that we picked up food from the day we got engaged in Central Park so there were lots of those little details that made it feel even more intentional and special.

Taylor also got everyone matching shirts that had the New York City skyline on them (which was so kind of her!) and we all wore them to go get bagels the next morning.

I think that covers everything! If you have any questions about planning a bachelorette party in NYC, leave a comment on this post.

yours,

Austen
