Fashion Influencer and Author Caroline Vazzana Launches Podcast

Looking for something new to listen to on your commute? NYC-based fashion influencer and author Caroline Vazzana just launched her podcast, Making it in Manhattan.

Caroline Vazzana released her first book of the same name in 2018 and the podcast will serve as a somewhat of a serialized sequel, giving her a chance to dive deeper on themes from the book and tell stories in an audio-first format.

Produced by Hoff Studios, the podcast launches today April 25th with new episodes being released every week on Tuesdays.

A press release shared about the podcast says, “Making it in Manhattan, the podcast will follow a similar format where Caroline will draw back the curtain on the fashion industry and share a behind-the-scenes look into her world. From career to style advice and the occasional iconic guest, this will quickly become your next favorite fashion podcast.”

I sat down with Caroline to learn more about why she chose to start a podcast and what listeners can expect from the weekly show.

“I hope to connect with my community in a much deeper way”

Q&A with Caroline

1. Congrats on the podcast launch! When I think of you, I always picture your beautiful outfits and fun video content. Since you create such visually dynamic content, what drew you to the audio format of a podcast?

So much of my content is short-form content, so for the past few years I’ve been really interested in starting a podcast to connect with my community in a much deeper way.

I hope through these weekly episodes I can share more of myself that I don’t usually get to.

2. What can listeners expect to hear on podcast episodes? Do you have any dream guests you’d like to bring on?

So many different things—we’ll cover career advice where I’ll share stories from my past, mistakes I’ve made, and how I got to where I am now.

I’ll also share style stories, how to find your personal sense of style and yes, well also have the occasional iconic guest!

I think my dream guest would be Betsey Johnson.

3. How do you think 2013 Caroline would react to the news of your podcast launch?

She would be so excited and truly be in awe of everything with where I am at this moment in my life and career.

I’ve wanted to work in fashion since I was ten so I’m really doing everything I hoped to.

4. Whether it’s your social media content, your book or your new podcast, you always manage to tell such engaging stories. Do you have a favorite career story or moment from the last few years that stands out to you?

Aw thank you! I think the past few years have been such an interesting time through Covid, my wedding, and now launching the podcast.

The past years have really been a time of growth and change and I feel like my stories from my really young days when I was first starting out really stick out to me and I’ll be sharing lots more of them on the podcast!

5. Do you have any advice or words of wisdom for aspiring podcasters now that you’ve recorded your first few episodes?

I’m definitely still learning myself, but I’d say to just go for it and be open!

Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there in a real and raw way.
