6 Spring 2019 Fashion Trends To Shop Right Now
It seems like we are finally nearing the end of a long, albeit mild, winter here in New York and I am more than ready to start dressing for a new season. Spring is actually my least favorite season because it feels like it only lasts for .02 seconds before we launch into a full-on heatwave and I have trouble wrapping my head around being obsessed with pastel colors for three months straight. With that being said, I am actually really enjoying the colors, patterns, and silhouettes that have come to the forefront of this season of fashion (which even includes one sort-of pastel!) so I thought I would point out six of my favorite fashion trends that I’ve seen popping up on the streets of NYC and, of course, on my Instagram feed.
Read on to see what I’ll be keeping an eye on if I happen to do any shopping (highly unlikely because moving is $$$!) and what has been catching my eye lately in stores, online, and everywhere else.
Neon
You heard it here first, bright colors are back and here to help you wake up your wardrobe post-winter. I loved wearing bright colors to NYFW and there are some awesome neon items out on the market right now, from lime green to hot pink.
Pistachio Green
After the Sally LaPointe fall ‘19 show this February, I think we all became obsessed with this unlikely color hero. Pistachio green is here to remix your wardrobe as the perfect mix between a neon and a pastel. If you’re someone who likes neutrals, prepare to embrace this as one.
Animal Print
Animal print, specifically leopard and cheetah print, has been all the rage for a few months now and this long-lasting trend isn’t going anywhere in the spring months. Get ready to remix this print with bright neons, neutrals, and anything else.
Hair Accessories
In case you’ve been living under a rock for a few months (which, good for you, social media is exhausting) hair accessories have had a major comeback this year. Whether it’s a headband, a scarf, or some clips, you can create a unique look that will be remembered on Instagram and IRL.
Tie-Dye
This old-school trend is making a comeback this spring! Plus, you can do it yourself should you feel a creative spark or like you want to save your moo-lah. Whether you opt for pants, a dress, or a transitional sweatshirt, you can mix this fun print with other basics in your wardrobe for a modern take on your favorite ‘90s trend.
Natural Tones
Let us all usher in the season of neutral colors and linen fabrics. As Harling Ross from Man Repeller likes to call it, stick of butter dressing has become a phenomenon on social media and among fashion lovers in NYC. If you’re lacking style inspo, simply go back to basics and keep things earthy.
